The only (very minor) error would be the date of FDR's inauguration, which was March 4, 1933, not in January, 1933. I only point this out in case you'd want to publish this essay in a more formal setting.
Hmmmm....I wonder how I missed that. Thanks. But I don’t expect to ever be publishied in “more formal settings.”
You see, it really helps to be considered “reasonable” at every “formal” level up the chain. Derbyshire and Steyn were not considered “reasonable” at NRO, and were essentially ejected.
So I say Screw all of the ‘reasonable’ Vichy GOPe websites. I don’t like to tamp or tame or timetable or trim my ideas according to the templates of others. They would not have me, and I in turn would not want to welcome at a table of Vichy Republicans managing the terms of our surrender.
Nope, I like it fine, my way. I just toss them out into the ether with a searchable title. Name-brand websites? Who cares. If My stuff was published on a leading conservative website, it would not move the needle one iota. Most Americans don’t know if Benghazi is a city, a snack, or a dance. And they don’t care. I am writing for posterity, not to turn this canoe around on the last bend of the Niagara River. That ain’t going to happen at this late date.
