That’s so true. If someone tried to say Koreans are prone to teenaged pregnancy, armed robbery and drug dealing, they would just laugh because it’s not true. What makes many of these stereotypes so offensive is that they are too close to the truth.

The fact is, certain demographics are indeed over-represented when it comes to crime. The response to that is to either insist that the police only arrest people for crimes according to their proportion of the population — and then let the rest go: “I’m sorry, but our prison population is already 12% black, so we have to let you go.”

Or perhaps they need to look within themselves and try to bring their children up better. This is why Michael Brown was shot; he was obviously raised w/o limitations or consequences and became violently outraged that anyone would tell him “no.”

Hence, he put his hand on the clerk’s throat when he dared to follow him after being robbed.

Yep, and that’s not just assault, it’s assault that could possibly denote murderous intent. Grabbing someone by the throat is an order of magnitude from shoving them or even throwing a punch.
