It's NOT environmentalism in the Al Gore sense.

It's a dust bowl like we had in the Midwest during the 1930s.

The film does not go into why it was happening.

That was how I saw it as well...a bit of a mixed bag, and because of that, the inconsistency was distracting, IMO.

I have never been a huge fan of Matthew McConaughey, and I didn’t really appreciate his performance. Too mumbled to me. But I liked his portrayal as a dinosaur.

Really hit home for me in that aspect...:)
