I don’t mind the violence unleashed by our gang, when I think of what they had just been through. Rick was trussed up at a steel trough to have his throat slit...before that was the encounter with Joe and his gang, and before that the fall of the prison and a serious beating.
They all must have some PTSD going on. I can understand how they snapped and just vented their rage.
And Rick did say at the end of the last season: They are screwing with the wrong people! They lived up to the declaration.

They could just as easily put some Tea Party members in those roles with a bunch of RINOs voting for amnesty and get an even bloodier scene and it would be completely justified...: )
