Well, I am quite enlightened by all of this, even if it were only the result of the serendipitous alignment of the jetsam and flotsam that makes its way through the myriad tributaries that flow through our computers via the internets.

I had always assumed it was called DUCT TAPE, the original, the only, simply because it described exactly what the tape was for. To secure ducts. Any mere mention of having it called DUCK TAPE would have me ridicule anyone who could be as dumb and stupid as that. Well, I have been humbled before but never to this extent and now I feel divine, totally cleansed, free of sin and unholiness. And so I am ready to announce my candidacy for local Community Organizer.

Back in the 1980s when I did video work we called it gaffer tape, because the gaffer on a film set was responsible for securing all the cables.
