I blame the Chinese for keeping all of their "ancient Chinese secrets" to themselves so that when the white man got to the Americas he had no cures for the diseases he brought.

Yes, I read a very interesting piece about that, in of all places Cracked.com

There was some great plague that nearly wiped out the native Americans before the white man got here. They said that had that not happened there might have been too many Indians and we could not have defeated them.
