A patient in Worcester, Massachusetts, with a history of travel in West Africa is being evaluated for a possible case of Ebola, health officials confirmed Saturday.
In a statement, the University of Massachusetts Memorial Medical Center said that physicians believe it is not likely that the patient has Ebola.
The hospital says it is working with the Centers for Disease Control and the Massachusetts Department of Public Health while the patient is examined....

Wait what?
SF?
How did I miss that?
I’ve spent most of my awake time on FR.
This is getting worcester and worcester....
You sure SF wasn’t that entervirus 68 something or other?
We have one in Solano county
So I just drove by UMASS Memorial in Worcester about 30 minutes ago on my way home.
Media is already setting up for the 11:00pm news broadcast.
Prepare for the New England Ebola Panic (Trust me - the media’s good about that around here)
Guess I should also note that UMASS Memorial is the top employer in Worcester.
Here we go again!
PING!
Went to college in Worcester. Sad sorry state of affairs that UMASS Hospital is the largest employer. Year’s ago, Norton’s was.. manufacturing is dead there now.
Outside of Boston, all that's left in Brockton, Framingham, Lawrence, Lowell, Springfield, New Bedford and Worcester are Quik-e marts, welfare offices, pawn shops, and broken down apartments.
Sorry I was away, I’m not sure maybe it was Solano.
Solano county is entervirus D68, not ebola

Thank you. A recently post thread says 15 suspected cases aside from Duncan.
Getting scary...

Yeah... I have seen that...we’ll see how long I can keep up
A dangerous place it is.
Yep - my daughter is a nurse and we discussed it yesterday - while Ebola doesn't cause coughing/sneezing, Flu and other maladies do and they are not mutually exclusive to having also been infected by Ebola. As Flu season hits, there are likely to be a number of cases where the Flu helps spread the disease. Most hospitals and staff are totally unprepared and have no intentions of trying to prepare because it would be an exercise in futility, along with being expensive - we are woefully unprepared if it gains a foot hold.
I’ll bet Amherst is holding rallies to protect the Liberian immigrants from persecution... < /NOT SARCASM>
