They have historically closer ties and I’m under the impression that they have larger populations of Africans living in those countries. Two of the countries in the ebola hot zone are French-speaking, so I’d honestly expect France to have had a scare or two before the United States.
I bet it is there, but the Islamist overrun areas aren’t exactly transparent wrt health issues...
