Mine too.

A small group of Republicans (Cruz, Lee, Sessions, Paul, etc) might be able to bottle up such a nomination by running down the clock in the lame duck. There’s a LOT of ground that needs to be covered, not a heck of a lot of time to cover them in, and things will need to happen concurrantly. So filibuster the legislation as much as possible to deny the time necessary to conduct any sort of debate and vote on nominees.

But what about the new rule passed, the nuclear option, which bans filibusters on presidential nominees? This seems like something they will do in the lame duck session.
