Dead on the money Travis. I’m not sure how many truly get just how fast the meltdown will compound....once the EBT cards are denied....the food and fuel deliveries by the big rigs/trains/ships are halted.....clean drinking water becomes all most impossible to obtain.....firemen and policemen will be unavailable as they will be home protecting their own families etc. etc. etc. Yep, it is gonna spiral up VERY quickly the way I see it.

The coming 9-11 anniversary that triggered this article puts me in the mind of leverage.

19 guys leveraged box cutters into taking down the twin towers and killed 3,000.

Imagine the fatal leverage of a well thought out coordinated attack on our grid. 20 or 30 guys with rifles could do it. All of them could have already reconned their designated targets. They could be just waiting for a go-code. Or they could already have a date and time.

The California sub station rifle attack last year might have just been a dry run for a coordinated attack.

You nailed it. Drinking water. Three days and it is over. I have thought about this a great deal. During preparations over the last 16 years I inadvertently missed the obvious. I figured that flush toilets indoors were the priority. Cold showers could be lived with, but enough power was required to fill that pressure tank so toilets would flush. Drinking water just was not on the radar originally the first time we lost power.

Only later did it hit me, the importance of clean water for drinking. I had already taken care of it in my three backups. I was not looking at a regional loss. I just assumed we were the ones that lost power a couple of times a year. Drinking water would always be available.

Inadequate drinking water will kill many very quickly. Doesn't matter if you are the Hollywoods or the Fergusons. It doesn't matter if you drive a Bentley or a moped. It doesn't matter. If you drink bad water, then you are going down. If you have no water, you will go down just as quick.

Just something I have gamed over the years. The ugly may not necessarily be the roaming youths. The ugly may be what it always has been in history and many will get there quickly with bad water.

Most will die from lack of sanitation and clean water. Once winter sets in, many more will die from exposure.

It's the little things that get folks killed.

Just my humble opinion: ISIS could drop the grid anytime they want; combine that with a few well timed and placed IED attacks and some sniping...panic will kill thousands.
