does he have to pay rent on the Governors mansion and the chauffeur and car payments for that week? Will all of his travel and other benefits be curtailed?
No...
Once again for a politician its all sizzle but no steak!
I’d like to see him take the challenge of living as a private sector worker who actually has to earn a living for a week. No BS consulting or law firm lobbyist job, but someone who has to work. Then, at the end of the week when he gets his check, some one needs to snatch about a third of it out of his hand for taxes, and then call him a greed rich bastard if he protests.
I don’t know about his state, but we have more jobs than qualified applicants here.
Will he have his bodyguards kick a homeless man off a grate so he can sleep on it?
I’ve got an easier plan, Mr. President: Instead of raising the minimum wage, how about eliminating the obscene federal withholding on low-income paychecks?
Just a thought.
The Governor could live decently on $79 for a week. He could sleep at:
Pacific Garden Mission
1458 South Canal Street
Chicago IL 60607
(312)492.9410
He could get free coffee and breakfast at PGM before heading out to enjoy the Senior RTA Reduced Fares of $1.00 (bus)and $1.10 (train) with $.15 transfers on the CTA. He could spend the whole day on transit for $2.00 before returning for his free dinner.
