Need some help remembering: where Mike Huckabee has demonstrated his establishment thinking and his lack of understanding of conservative issues (outside of the social issues)- and where he has bought into big government solutions.
I'm on a panel tomorrow about Huckabee in 2016 (I did not choose the topic) - and I need some memory jogging.
The Governor who kept Tyson’s factories chin-deep in illegal slave labor and attacked people IN CHURCH for daring to oppose this abomination.
He introduced himself to CPAC attendees, "I was born a poor boy from Hope, Arkansas."
Before and during his brief tenure as a slimmer man, Huckabee campaigned for overhaul of school lunches. As governor, he instituted obesity report cards for school children.
I’m quite ashamed and sorry to let you down. You have caught me embarrassingly flat footed on any following of the Huck.
My eyes unfailingly glazed over, even crossed, at any and every utterance of the shamelessly transparent pandering of Mike Huckabee, the Baptist version of Queen Latifa.
Rita :(
Just like another Guv from Arkansas .....
In fact, there is a theory about that .......
When he was Governor he was called “Tax Hike Mike”.
GREAT info, thanks!!
oh no, you done good ...
If its still on her website Ann Coulter eviscerated him on immigration back in 2008.
Well all you need to do is look at his Arkansas Record, I live here. He never met a tax he didn’t like.
Huckabee was never a Conservative by any means just another RINO most of the time. Also was consumed, along with his wife, “Sugarbutton”, about Money and how to get it, never met a gift he would not keep.
Worst mistake ever in this state electing him, never and I mean never elect a Baptist Preacher Governor!!!!!!!!!!!!
In the 2008 nomination cycle, Huck stayed in the race just to ensure Romney didn’t get the nomination.
Maybe this is a panel you shouldn’t be on if you don’t know much of anything about the subject.
Personally I’m sick and tired of watching panels of ‘experts’ give opinions that only show their ignorance of facts and background info.
Think about it.
You wanted Romney all the way back in 2008?
No....I didn’t want McCain.
Also, didn’t like Huck’s tactics.
I know plenty about the subject - but as a professional, I am also willing to ask for input from others. It’s one way I know plenty. This is also a subject that is about 7 years in the making - or more. It’s called jogging a memory.
But thank you for being an unhelpful jackass.
Wrong, Romney dropped out WAY WAY WAY ahead of Huck. You’re just not correct sir.
Most of the specifics have been addressed. But there’s something else that really, really bugs me about Huckabee. If there is a political battle between the GOP-E and the Tea Party, 90% of the time, Huckabee stands with the Establishment.
This is funny, because the beltway GOP-E leadership has repreatedly demonstrated it holds the same kind of contempt for Huckabee and social conservatives as they do for the Tea Party crowd. Indeed, the two groups are often quite intermingled. Yet, Huckabee is constantly looking like he is “toadying” to the GOP-E. He comes across as the fat, dorky kid who is always rushing to shine the shoes of the “cool kids” in high school, salivating for their approval.
It makes Huckabee look rather pathetic to me. And I’m very much a social conservative, and I should be inclined to at least harbor some positive feelings towards him, but he’s so noxious in his toadying, that I’m frankly repelled by him. And that doesn’t even count his loathsome pro-illegals history.
