Some disturbing footage from Ferguson, Missouri, courtesy of CNN. It shows a white cop telling protesters to "bring it, all you [expletive] animals," as they demonstrate against the killing of an unarmed 18-year-old black man by Ferguson's police force on Saturday.
(VIDEO-AT-LINK)
Witnesses say Michael Brown was killed while holding his hands in the air, after he was stopped by police. The police say Brown went for an officer's gun during an altercation. The incident has touched off protests, rioting, and looting in Ferguson, where 65 percent of the population is African-American. The police force is overwhelmingly white.
The author. Go look at his Twitter account, it'll explain EVERYTHING.
No, we should be careful that our employees aren’t so stupid as to utter words that may be used to incite others to riot and loot.
Is it really too much to ask that cops not further inflame a ugly situation? Because I don’t think so. I hope his supervisor plants a boot up his ass and takes away his donut privileges.
I see you are in the same IQ quintile as the name calling cop. Impressive.
The guy is in a war zone with savages who want to kill him and you fault him for calling them animals? I suppose the next course is to criticize those who call the ISIS scum bad names. You should win the thread asshole award.
I understand. I agree with you, it was not smart. It’s been three days on the line, cut a little slack. Not that the cop is right, but you are not the one facing the mob. You, any many, might not be so perfect in that situation.
I too am a business owner and taxpayer. Thankfully I am not in St. Louis. But if a cop speaks a bit out of line up I’ll back him over a raging mob any day.
There is no justification for looting. Realize this and much of your viewpoint will change.
Of course there is no moral justification for looting but there are many immoral ones, including using the taunting of stupid cops to whip up irrational emotions.
Let me make it perfectly clear to you. Yes, that cop is a stupid thug who is endangering the lives and property of others with his macho taunting.
Do you know what happens when it spins out of control? The cops will fall back and then the business owners will be left to protect their business themselves, at their own risk.
Because the people they paid to do the job couldn’t keep their stupid macho mouth shut and maintain professionalism in a very dicey, ugly situation.
He’s not a hero, he’s a loose cannon.
There is no justification of any sort.
You could do better then. Go out there and do it.
Ditto !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
.
No one has called him a hero.
‘White cop calls black protesters ‘animals’ in Ferguson, Missouri’
And the problem with this statement is?..
Well at least we can agree on something.
We agree on a great deal. My only difference is in not castigating an officer for being mouthy on day three of looting/mayhem. It’s not smart, but it is understandable. (Note I did not say excusable) Cut a little slack. That’s all.
I am not willing to cut mouthy cops any slack ever. Taunting mobs is a fool’s game and I don’t suffer fools gladly.
Because the cops will pull back after they taunt them and incite them to violence they can’t control and that leaves the business owners exposed and risking their own lives to defend their property.
It is not too much to ask that they not make things worse by poking the angry bear.
You’re already wetting your pants while this guy faced them down.
We do not agree on this point. I have nothing further.
This guy is part of the problem of uncontrolled police thuggery.
And in other news, Autopsy of Michael Brown won’t be released, STL county prosecutor says. https://twitter.com/dougwmoore/statuses/499378650043924480
I am getting a really uneasy feeling about this case.
Autopsy of Michael Brown won't be released, STL county prosecutor says. That twitter post is from someone going by the handle "Doug Moore"
The St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney is Robert McCulloch.
St. Louis, MO is not in St. Louis County, MO. That twitter post is misleading.
“Doug Moore” says the STL county prosecutor says the autopsy of Michael Brown wont be released.
Who is “Doug Moore”? Is he a reporter for the St Louis Post-Dispatch?
Does STL Post-Dispatch have this story?
A twitter post is insufficient
I never said the guy was a hero. However, to put this cop on the same level as these animalistic rioting scum is completely wrong.
