Note this says nothing about white killers vs. black killers.

Could the disparity be because the black people killed were more likely to be the aggressors in a case of self-defense?

More than 75 percent of the murder victims in cases ending with executions were white, even though nationally only 50 percent of murder victims are generally white, according to deathpenaltyinfo.org. Think Progress reports that, of the 30 executions performed in 2013, the majority of victims were white.

Since the large majority of murders are in-race, this means that of the killers of whites were also themselves white.

The solution being, of course, to execute more black people.
