Target decided on this policy because a couple of nimrods decided to go into a store and browse the merchandise with their long guns & AK’s over their shoulders... I’m sure they are responding to the “soccer moms” who shop more frequently than bubba who was there to make a point...
Because you can doesn’t always mean you should...
There are A LOT of gun rights people out here trying to get carry rights restored and move towards constitutional carry...
I open carry in some places and conceal in others. It’s my choice... people know me as a nice guy... When they find out I carry, I can start a conversation about the positive aspects of gun ownership... It’s hard to do that with mad max standing behind me with his AK over his shoulder... (their perception)

Dear Target,
Did you ask the law breaking citizens to not bring guns into your store, too?
Yeah, that is what I thought. I don’t think they will comply.

PS. It takes someone working REALLY hard at being stupid to ask law abiding citizens to not carry weapons for their own protection.
I stopped shopping at target when my waist size got bigger than 44” and they had no pants in my size. When the cashier asked “Did you find everything?” I said “No, you don’t have any pants in my size”.
She then told me “Oh, we have extended sizes online”. I said, “So you’ll be happy to take my money, you just don’t want me coming into your store for them?” She just stammered and didn’t know what to say. I now shop at Walmart.
I would rather be asked to leave a Target store, than be directed at gun point to fork over my wallet. Just sayin.
Target has become a soft target.

Now that Florida law says that your concealed handgun can be briefly exposed, I’ve moved to a larger gun too. Not full size though because it just isn’t worth the extra weight and bulk.
Target is following down the same path as K-Mart and Walmart. Let’s hope they wake up before it is too long.
K-Mart. K-Mart crippled itself by stopping selling guns and gun accessories. Walmart is now doing the same. Let’s hope that Target is a little smarter.
I actually don’t find the Glock 21 to be too heavy and if I found myself in a gun fight, there’s no other handgun I would want to have in my hand and I can pretty much take my pick at this point. From under a T shirt, it comes out of the Aker flatsider extremely fast and even while dashing, the bullets go right where you want them at normal handgun combat distances. I have carried many different guns but I always end up going back to the Glock 21. It’s a true combat masterpiece IMO.
Target should be respectfully asking their customers not to bring their credit cards in the store if they REALLY want to help make them safer.

I’m 52, had to display my gun once in 25 years of carrying to make some guy change his mind about his choice of victims and that was just a J-frame S&W. So, I carry a Beretta PX4 Storm Subcompact these days. 13 rounds of 9mm JHP will do the job.
I occasionally carry a M&P 340 J frame .357. I was carrying it once and needed it when 3 dirt bags decided to interupt my vacation. There were three of them and I had five rounds. I realized that day that it wasn’t enough gun. The Glock 21 is enough gun. Now a J frame is enough gun to scare some people but if you end up in a fight with multiple armed bad guys, you are outgunned and the FBI statistics show that multiple perpetrator homicides are becoming the norm. You can expect to have more than one person to contend with. My J frame is a left handed gun now.

Every name-brand gun (except for 1911s) that I’ve ever owned functioned flawlessly. All my Glocks have been perfect, even my 21. I even have a 12 year old 17 that has never been cleaned or field-stripped, except for a couple passes with a boresnake after each use.
yeah, my colt combat commander has jammed more than once. I won’t carry a 1911. What’s the saying-”show your buddy your 1911, show your enemy your glock”. I became officially in love with the glock 21 one day when I found myself easily hitting half sillouettes at 50 yards. I always felt that your sidearm needs to big and bad enough to fill in for your rifle while still being practical and it seemed like it fit the bill nicely. I almost bought a PX4 for the wife but I got talked into a Taurus thin instead which managed to surprise me. It’s much better than I was anticipating. Of course, now she wants to carry my Glock 30 now that she’s advanced her skills a bit.
Yes, posted no firearms at some stores. (I don’t know about Target). I carry anyway (concealed) for the reasons stated before. I have debated carrying the rare times where it is spelled out against state law (schools and bars and courtrooms). Schools no as it would have long-term effects on being able to protect myself if they take away my CCW. I don’t frequent bars. Although some restaurants will post the legal No Firearms in Bars thing, but you can STILL carry if it has a eating area that a child can eat in. Although the bar people probably don’t understand that part of the law.
Target, so you are ALLOWING CRIMINALS to bring guns there? Okay, I’ll wait to see a criminal rob you guys.
Concealed means concealed.
Can Law-abiding citizens respectfully refuse?
This will land up in the fed courts very quickly and in time, at the USSC.
