If you’ve never read Plutarch’s Lives because it seemed dry or unapproachable or if you know of a young person who might benefit from reading Plutarch this is an excellent, sophisticated, but clear rendition of Lives:

The Greeks: http://www.mainlesson.com/display.php?author=gould&book=greeks&story=_contents

The Romans: http://www.mainlesson.com/display.php?author=gould&book=romans&story=_contents

I am certain that all FReepers read the Declaration of Independence to their families yesterday. That document suddenly seems wholly modern, no?
