I don’t want to be a busybody (as if I could help it!) but I have always gone out and gotten another rescue dog when my one of my dogs died. It is nothing more than a suggestion; taking care of another rescue often removes the pain of the loss.
That’s what we do. We always get our dogs from the shelters. When one passes, we wait a couple days and then adopt another one. It’s the best bargain we’ve ever found.
