The 1683 attack on Vienna was more in the nature of a last gasp and imperial overreach than being poised to overrun Europe.
They were never after able to conduct an effective offensive against a European power.
That may be overly dramatic statement, but while the Habsburgs expanded in Central Europe, the Turks expanded their possessions in the Balkans and held them for another two centuries. We still have a Muslim terrorist state about a thousand kilometers away from Vienna, and we helped creating it.
