The win of Sen. W. Thad Cochran over state Sen. Christopher B. McDaniel in the June 24 GOP Mississippi Senate Primary runoff by less than 5,000 votes is a pyrrhic victory for the Republican establishment.

After The Cochran campaign used racist robo calls to pump up black
turnout in a GOP primary, something only democrats used to do,
my conscience would be clear.
There could have been a chance for unity had the GOPe’s not used
democrat election strategy’s. But there will be no unity, only war.
No conservative or Tea Party candidate has ever or would ever use
the tactics the GOPe’s used in MS and KY.
There will be long term blowback from both the KY and MS elections.
How and when it manifest’s itself, we will have to wait and see.
I think its likely Cochran will retire before his term ends.
******************
I agree and think that was the plan all along if in fact he really didn’t want to run this
time as has been hinted at. I don’t know MS politics but it’s possible that he could retire
after taking office and the governor appt a replacement. My thoughts were it would be
someone like Barbour but I don’t know the tendencies of the governor.
We In oregon will be getting to vote on the “open primary” soon...beat it back in 2008...we shall see what happens
So you live by situational ethics and your principles are contingent?
ROCK, what about the moderate/liberal Republicans who support amnesty, among other leftwing platforms? How are they not the enemy? They have a different letter after their names but you get the same destructive result.
If the GOPe’s are not punished for these dirty tricks played on
our conservative candidates, they will do it over and over again.
It will only stop when GOP primaries are closed and the GOPe’s
are sent a message.
That's useful to know. I'll relate it to my friends who think that every Republican is automatically the "good guy."
I live by you piss on me, I’ll piss on you.
Pretty simple actually.
I got this phone call Friday:
You didn't answer the question.
The difference is; there are no conservatives in the RAT party. Not one.
I realize that there are some people in this world who actually like
getting pissed on and sh$t on. They enjoy being abused. It turns them on.
However, I’m not one of them.
And the GOPe doesn’t want them in the GOPe either.
Witness the shenanigans with this primary.
Tell me exactly why I should care if such a person becomes senate majority leader? How, precisely, will his actions benefit conservatives in a different way than those of Harry Reid?
We know when we’re not wanted.
The robocall says it all about what the GOP think about conservatives:
WOW.
“The Tea Party’s disrespectful treatment of the first African-American president...”
“Stop the Tea Party before they cause more problems for President Obama...”
It’s way past time to wake up about the GOP, folks.
Thank you, Black Agnes; bookmarked.
I can’t believe you’re trying to blame McDaniel voters. Though you’re right that it would have avoided round #2, not the point. McDaniel won the Republican vote in round #2 and I guarantee you the Dems who stole it have no intention of voting for Cochran in Nov (a requirement to crossover). A few maybe but this was nothing short of a corrupt scheme to steal the election FROM REPUBLICANS.
WHO hired him?
The Barbour’s, that’s who!
They aren't what?
We Conservatives are in the minority and ALWAYS will be if we STILL vote for ANY GOPe after this. They are counting on us to say just what you said and do what you are suggesting.
Do you understand committee control or not?
We are like the abused wife that keeps going back, too afraid to leave.
No, it is the job of conservatives to kick out the RINOs.
IT DIDN'T HAPPEN THIS TIME.

Mississippi Conservatives PAC is headed by a Barbour IIRC.
That robo call used to be something only democrats would stoop to.
The GOP hit an all time low.
And now they want unity? What a joke.
It’s only war for me.
RINOs are the enemy, and they all need to be replaced by conservatives.
They have a different letter after their names but you get the same destructive result.
Except for one thing..."They have a different letter after their names".
Given a majority (Rs after their names) that allows committee control and gives conservatives a chance to either beat them into submission or beat them in future primaries.
