I wouldn’t say “some”. It’s ben very prevalent here and on “conservative” shows such as on FOX. I think they are just trying to detract from the leftist drumbeat on guns with their own drumbeat. It’s easier because mental problems can be categorized, whereas just poor morals cannot.

FOX...damages the conservative cause more than it helps. Northeastern Rs are nearly as anti-gun as Ds.
Standing up to liberals is not in the nature of Establishment Rs, appeasement is. It’s the reason we’re in the pickle we are now with Barry and his ilk. Fighting against evil ideas can get dirty and the pretty boys we send to DC aren’t up to it. The rigors of thought necessary to see the disgrace in blaming mentally ill people for society’s ills and the dangers of having “undesirable” thought labeled as mental illness is beyond those who simply want K-street to fund their lifestyle.
