Not right now, thanks. I have 92 and sunny, 30% chance of rain tonight.

I’ve never been to Jamaica, but it is a tourist destination. How long is Sally going to be there?

A week. She has four t-shirts (approved as appropriate by me - no skulls!), three pairs of men’s athletic shorts (to the knee), and a skirt and top for whenever she’s told to put on her Official Go-To-Mass Clothes.
They’ll be staying in a turn-of-the-last-century resort (no electricity) which is now a hostel run by Franciscan sisters. During the day, they’ll work in Missionaries of the Poor facilities in Kingston.

Has she done this kind of thing before? It sounds like a trip that she’ll remember for the rest of her life.
She will need some laundry soap, though.

No, this is the first time. She had to turn 14 first. Two parishioners with experience at the mission volunteered to stand in loco parentis, which reminds me that I need to get the notarized statement giving them permission to take her out of the country. Had to do that when my mother took the girls to England last fall.

This still sounds like something I would have done (would do!) in a heartbeat, had I had the chance.
Lucky Sally!

Because ‘Face has them all, so if you said you had any, you’d be bluffing.
Sally will share a room at the hostel with Mrs. M, who is travelling with her teenaged son. The son is a very religious, outspoken, and rather flighty boy, who once asked my Elen if she would have his children! He’d just seen a fellow parishioner’s new baby and was thinking of having his own (someday), and Elen is healthy and beautiful ...
In another context, I’d have marked him down to watch out for, but not this kid. He’s enough like Tom to get Sally’s back up, but hopefully being a non-sibling, the situation won’t combust. If they hit it off, there will be duets of “Let It Go” on the bus!

I’m looking forward to 50. My ‘teens (when I was a teenager, I mean, not the ones in the house now) were unpleasant. Well, maybe both.

Yes, I did go to Pakistan, and it was in the spring, but I didn’t do much touring. I DID however, bring home some beautiful clothes!
I’ve found some of them, and maybe this weekend, I will find others.
Tomorrow, I will concentrate on bills and grocks, and not worry about the truck and other things. I will get it repaired when I get it repaired. Period. In the meantime, I have Shank’s Ponies and a taxi for the return.

I wouldn’t want to go through 14 again. I was 5’9”, weighed 135 pounds and 35 pounds of it was above my waist. It was not a pleasant time for one who was so young and cute.
I also couldn’t figure out who I was, let alone, who I was going to be. Being 16 was much better.
