Though the Obama Administration is saying that the President is "madder than hell" at extremely long waiting times and that he would take action, Mr. Obama actually campaigned against what is going on now in 2007.
In a speech entitled "A Sacred Trust" that then-Senator Obama gave on August 21, 2007, Mr. Obama slammed lengthy waiting times and the mishandling of VA wait times and health care. At the time, Obama was campaigning to win the Democrat nomination for President.
"To keep our sacred trust," Mr. Obama explained, "I will improve mental health screening and treatment at all levels: from enlistment, to deployment, to reentry into civilian life. No service-member should be kicked out of the military because they are struggling with untreated PTSD.
"No veteran should have to fill out a 23-page claim to get care," he continued, "or wait months - even years - to get an appointment at the VA. We need more mental health professionals, more training to recognize signs and to reject the stigma of seeking care."
He later explained then, that the actions of his administration now are dishonorable: "When a veteran is denied care, we are all dishonored."

To clarify, that’s waiting times on the golf course.
‘No one was more frustrated over the Obamacare roll-out than he was ’, he assured us of that.
He can only put out one fire at a time, especially with all those Dem fundraisers he has to fly to,.
He's only been in office 5 months now. Give him time.
but Obama just found out about extremely long waiting times from the news ,it had to be Fox , I don’t think any other news covers it
Hey dude. 2007 was like seven years ago, man.
The Socialist government MO:
1) Initial declaration - the Inductive Stage: "We, the government, will give more affordable and better healthcare for everyone."
2) Later - the Fast-Shuffle Stage (when things go inevitably wrong as they always do on most government programs): "We are very disappointed this happened. But it's because of X, Y, & Z [never government's fault]. Therefore, we will need more money to fix the problem which was not our fault."
3) The Disappearing Stage: You may never hear from them again as socialized healthcare blends into the woodwork of everyday life and gradually creates healthcare shortages just like government creates shortages in everything else.
If you put the federal government in charge of the Sahara Desert, in five years there'd be a shortage of sand. - Milton Friedman.
What difference does it make? /sarc
But the Carney said he first learned about in the news......”a few years ago” was left off
He fired an old guy that was retiring next month, Obama is really mad!
What difference, at this time, does it make?
Yeah, exactly. Hillary “What Difference Does It Make” Clinton will rue the day she made that insensitive statement in her testimony at the congressional hearings. It makes her look uncaring and incompetent, both traits that I believe aptly describe this woman.
Yeah—those were just talking points handed to him that he read on the campaign trail.
You don’t believe he actually comprehended or believed them, right. :-)
