U.S. Ambassador Christopher Stevens wasn’t murdered the night of the Benghazi attacks but died of “smoke inhalation,” according to Daily Beast columnist Eleanor Clift.
Clift made that pronouncement — and a few other eye-popping claims — on Sunday’s The McLaughlin Group, Mediaite noted.
“I would like to point out that Ambassador Stevens was not ‘murdered,’” Clift exclaimed (even adding air quotes for good measure), “he died of smoke inhalation in a safe room in that CIA installation.
Fellow panelists quickly took issue with her statements, including Pat Buchanan, who fired back: “It was a terrorist attack, Eleanor. He was murdered in a terrorist attack.”
Clift dug in her heels, further insisting that Benghazi was an “opportunistic terrorist attack” with an anti-Muslim video as its catalyst. In addition, she noted earlier that the Benghazi issue “animates the right-wing of the Republican party.”

I guess a lot of people on 911 didn’t die from a terrorist attack, they committed suicide by jumping from the Twin Towers.
Then I guess that some of the people in the Twin Towers on 9/11/01 weren’t murdered in a terrorist attacked they died from jumping out windows?

Eleanor Clift is on this planet for the express purpose of trying to drive reasonable people nuts. Best thing - ignore her. You should have seen her Friday night on the McLaughlin Group. It was like “dog-pile on Eleanore” when she started babbling this stuff. Even John McLaughlin, who inexplicably often defers to her, joined in.
True. But not shocking coming from Eleanor Clift. Neutron stars are in awe of how dense she is.

Just like your run of the mill arsonist is not a murderer because the people that died in the structure he set fire to died from smoke inhalation rather then being burned to death in the actual flames. Behold Progressive logic in all of it’s glory!
Anything but the truth - the four who died that night were all there as a sacrifice to the bad judgment of policy set by the Current Regime, and the ambassador died a much worse death than Eleanor Clift claimed.
And worse than that, she shows signs that she really believes her own set of facts regarding the whole chain of events.
Either that, or signs of advancing senility.

Of course, even if smoke inhalation had caused the ambassador’s death, he was murdered, as were the other three brave, but abandoned, Americans. To assert anything else is to justify the terrorists’ crimes.
