I was not approving of Lincoln's actions vis-a-vis the Civil War itself. I am not looking for anything like that from the federal government. It's the events leading to war that are similar it seems to me.
His "house divided speech" IMO matches what's going on today.. just substitute "aged 1960s Marxist-Alinsky campus radical, psycho spoiled brats and their ideological issue (the statists)" for slavery advocates. We do have two Americas. It cannot last. One will survive and the other perish.
Of course, there are lots of arguments put forth by patriots prior to the Revolution also that apply today.

You sound like Harry Reid or any other politician who has been reelected half a dozen times. They say exactly the same thing as you do. I hope your interpretation of the Constitution and for which it stands is different than theirs.

Mariner, I think you're right about the nature of the federal counter-attack. I do think they will attack people at home. But you know what? That just opens the federals up for the same kind of "rules of engagement" on their own people. The way they dish it out is the way it will come down on them. It ain't gonna be pretty, and it could go downhill rather quickly.Time to re-read Unintended Consequences and get some lessons therefrom.

It will come to this if the idiot politicians keep going down this road to tyranny. The Rule of Law dies the first time a body (or bodies) of innocents hit the floor as a direct result of a Bundy Ranch enforcement raid. In its place arises the Law of the Jungle followed by 4th generation warfare.
Among other things, 4GW actively targets the originators, enforcers, aiders, and abettors of this tyranny. Those responsible now wear bull's eyes on themselves 24/7/365. They become fair game to be put down whenever the occasion presents itself.
To those political morons who think this political tyranny will work, think again. Once the death of the first innocent(s) occurs, the game changes forever. Do not delude yourselves you can win. Your victims are more numerous and just as skilled (or better skilled) than you are. We know who you are and where you are. We are patient and our sympathizers are within your ranks. You do not have enough body guards to guarantee your safety. There is no place you can run or try to hide; your intended victims will find you.
One final question to the political morons driving this rush to civil war: It is easy to start the killing, but how do you get it to STOP? I don't know, but that's the answer you'd better think long and hard about the answer.

I think the lesson of Bundy Ranch for Obongo is that martial law isnt going to be the cakewalk he imagined it would be. I pray that you are correct and that it gives them pause, but I fear that it will only increase their resolve.
It seems to me that these "people", the administration, its fellow travelers and cheerers-on, all believe that they can control the course of events once the let that proverbial Djinn out of the bottle, but anyone who has been paying attention knows that once the flag goes up, all bets are off. Mike's speech was very good, but I doubt that the people it was intended for will pay attention to the message.
As was posted above, prayers are certainly in order.

So we need to support the very same “world policeman” thug wanna-be that’s going to jackboot stomp US and our freedoms? Question: IF a person supports those freedoms then does that make ANY sense? REALLY!?
