It’s a problem that they are now aware of the value their employer places on their very lives and well-being?

Are they going to resent us, or their employers?

I’m not certain they’ve made the connection between their employer and the danger they were placed in. Cops (especially wannabe cops) are not known in these parts for being the sharpest knives in the drawer. As I said earlier, they may be so thrilled with their legal sanction to beat “the little people” up and get away with it, they don’t notice their situational environment is changing.

(My apologies to any good cops there may be in the FR audience. You’re on FR, so obviously this sweeping generalization doesn’t apply to you!)
