Video is only 3:15 minutes long. A short graphic presentation of the nine big flaws in public schools.
Suppose someone is asking the question, well, what can we do, where do we start?
Here's a list of nine places to start.
----------------------------------------------
Personally I like trying to radically simplify things. That is especially appropriate in education. What these professors spend their time doing is creating so much confusion, disinformation, propaganda, alibis, excuses, lies, etc., etc., etc., finally no ordinary citizen knows what to think about the subject anymore. And that's how the Education Establishment wins.
At some point you have to start all over again. Hey, how about we teach these kids to read, teach them to do arithmetic, teach them basic knowledge about their country and the world...That's the way it's been done since the beginning of history.
I agree with all you have said in reference to education and religion, especially the scary part:
“What does Christ do with the lukewarm? He spits them out of His mouth.”
Too many have learned to be “tolerate” of evil, and have become “lukewarm”. The ten commandments used to be taught in the classrooms of America. They were taught so that HIS children might know right and wrong, good and evil, and HIS righteous laws. Without them, we cannot judge anything to be right or wrong. No wonder students are oblivious to the evils of todays world.
But they are reminded instead not to judge others, lest they be judged. However, the fact they must first judge themselves is ignored. Which is all to say, would they find themselves to be “lukewarm” in the eyes of GOD. I hope not.
You are on my Ignore List. I don’t chase red herrings.
Of course, you are completely free to stalk and bully me, if you choose.
Easiest, and (IMHO) best solution, is the Capitalist solution:
Those utilizing the service of ‘public’ (gov’t) education PAYS for said education.
- No more perpetual property taxes (for those of us w/out children and/or not in school)
- Direct payment = can fire/hire as they wish
- ‘Schools’ would pop up left/right to fill the void where service is required/lacking
- (think the pros could take their own thread)...
I agree. This alone would be a huge improvement.
It takes a certain type of personality to finish an "education" degree. An Ed degree is not something a normal, sensible, thinking person would every want to go through.
As it stands the education system is some kind of special employment project for people who would otherwise be unemployable. Spending years writing papers about Piaget's theories or cognitive psychology is of no relevance to the actual job of teaching. Having knowledge of the subject and skill to teach in class are not requirements.
The priority should be to get rid of these Ed degree people.
I’ve read articles that “Ed majors” tested on the bottom 25% SAT exam.
Considering the horror stories of how utterly stupid so many teachers are, I believe it.
If I need heart surgery, I want someone who was educated & trained as a heart surgeon.
I want my children taught be people who were educated with math, science and degrees that are relevant. “ED” degrees are totally meaningless and become a tool to indoctrinate the kids with socialism.
“Hey, teachers - leave our kids alone!”
Remember 50% of all doctors and lawyers finish in the bottom half of their class.
The world needs psychiatrists and divorce lawyers! LOL
There are those of us that have vocational backgrounds. I worked as both a Machinist and a Cabinet maker long before I got into teaching. I had to take a total of 5 "Education Classes" and student teach at a vocational school in order to get certified. There are alternatives if people are willing to pursue them.
