The mindset being that we take care of ourselves, because it's our responsibility. We don't expect to depend on others, because our problems are not their responsibility.
There seems to be a lack of taking responsibility these days in particular with respect to the Government officials, other than to say they do, and then proceed to explain how it wasn't their fault, and then do nothing.
While we have altered our preps due to current concerns, it really doesn't change the way of life, which is to plan on how to handle likely and possible problems, then take action to implement the plan.
Every day we are able to increase our ability to meet the challenges that may come. What is that saying? No one plans to fail, but failure to plan means you have accepted failure already? Thanks for the thread, and all you do.
God said (and don’t ask for chapter and verse, I don’t have it right here with me) that those who were His would not be harmed by what happens.
I believe Him, but as He says “Prepare..”
There will very likely be some of that ‘swapping’ going on, familyop...at least in some smaller cities (easier to defend than larger cities).
But, in the SHTF scenarios I’ve considered, I don’t see me leaving this hilltop, walking.
Just sayin’...
