The movie is a very faithful adaptation. Of course the movie takes ‘artistic license’ with the story of Noah, but you have to realize the biblical story of Noah is so short that if you stuck to it 100% you’d have maybe 15 minutes of movie, with massive plotholes. Aronofsky creates a beautiful Biblical adaptation and absolutely stays true to the spirit of the story. I hope more people realize this and form their own opinions, rather than parroting opinions from hateful people who haven’t even seen the movie. Also, God, i.e, “The Creator”, is mentioned all the time, so I have no idea where that criticism came from. Go see it. You’ll like it.

Then why make a movie of it at all?

I'm forming opinions based on people who have seen it. I'll probably watch it when it's on Netflix for a good laugh, but I'll certainly not spend money at the theater for it.

Why not call Him "God" then? Perhaps it's not a good idea to let an atheist direct a "biblical" movie?

Go see it. You’ll like it.

Of course. To get a dialogue going, right?

“...rather than parroting opinions from hateful people who haven’t even seen the movie.”

It isn’t a question of ‘parroting’, long experience with the people who today gravitate to movie/documentary production leaves me expecting the usual garbage. Maybe I miss a jewel here and there but it’s worth it to avoid being tweaked yet again by jackasses.

Almost all of the filmed story of Noah would be ‘filling out’ the sketch in the bible but the hate and rage that animates the hearts of liberal propagandists is soft and subtle and made for the task. It would be nice if they put up the Noah story in a way that does not attack Belief but I doubt the fundamental decency and heart of the industry.

Your definition of “hateful” seems to be “Someone who disagrees with my tastes, values and opinions.”

You sound awfully liberal.
