I agree. Hubris also sets in. In the case of many of the black pols, they think the race card makes them bulletproof. We've had several small town mayors here in North Louisiana indicted, one has gone to jail, and another is about to. I'm proud to say that my newsblog has covered it all extensively.

While looking for material about Katrina ran across several investigative articles on the HUD corruption in NOLA in the Picayune. All seemed to be connected to papa Landrieu who set HUD up under Carter. Then Katrina hit apparently making the issue moot. Couldn’t believe how much corruption was connected to one name. Even the school buses to Aunt Phyllis!
