It is the same idolization that happened after Trayvon Martin was killed.
The victim was light skinned and middle class. Dead person / incarcerated person is a black man, part of an aggrieved group that sees their modern day troubles as an extension of the Jim Crow laws of the 1950s and slavery of the 1850s. The dead person and the crimes the black man committed are irrelevant.
The black man is seen as the victim of a modern day lynching, and the racism in the narrative is so virulent that they won’t admit he actually did anything wrong to warrant the jailing/death.
It’s the same vein where almost no one mentions Mandela’s prior terrorist acts like putting mines in rural roads and bombings, which is WHY he was in prison for almost 30 years.
No... It more than that. There’s more to it than just the ordinary black dude being railroaded by “the man”.
