A citizen’s phone call to Connecticut state police about a letter ordering gun owners to dispose of their unregistered so-called “assault” weapons and standard-capacity magazines is sending shockwaves through the national gun-rights community after being recorded and posted online.
The heated phone conversation over the document took place amid rapidly escalating tensions between gun owners and state authorities determined to impose more gun control on Connecticut residents. In the recording, state police spokesman Lt. Paul Vance – who did not know he was being recorded and told WND it was illegal to do so – can be heard telling the woman that anyone who refuses to dispose of their newly banned firearms in accordance with official instructions could face felony arrest.

There were a great number of loyalists that fought against the patriots. In 1780 there were 9000 patriots in Washington’s army while 8000 layalist served in the British Army.
I think I know what side this guy would have been on.

Hopefully, he and other peace officers in Connecticut will come to see the recent gun laws in their state as unlawful and resign if asked to enforce them. I suppose some will and some won’t.
Popups and most ads can be completely avoided.

I would like to bring everyone back to the realm of reality on this one.
I’m in CT and active in the scenario. Many others who are active in the scenario fight me on many points. They won’t listen to me beyond the words that I am about to type right now:
Sgt Vance is totally correct.
Everything that he has said here is true. And it is the correct response. He is required to enforce the law, as his subordinates are. CT, as well as all Americans, waived many of their protest and juris away many, many years ago. We have been asleep at the wheel.
Sgt Vance isn’t “right” though. You see, this whole problem isn’t a “now” thing and it’s not a “him” thing. The problem existed far before Malloy, SAFE, or Feinstein. It existed before color television.
What these people are saying and doing isn’t nearly as important as us keeping our heads about us, and finally agreeing what it is that we want to see and the liberty that we want ourselves and our kids to experience.
Let not your mind be clouded by this guy - Our gun rights are gone, and they aren’t coming back for as long as our overlords live. When a right disappears, it’s not going to come back - not with out a frightening body count.
So confiscation or no confiscation, Neither side is winning here. Only the overlords that have been playing the game for keeps, while we have been asleep at the wheel.
Not with those pensions at stake.

Yea, and I’d bet some of the first that stay-on and attempt to uphold this unlawful law will suddenly “resign” whether they like it or not . . . . heh.
It seemed like some of the titles are over the top, maybe it’s just me.

LAPD thought so too until that guy Dorn started threatening them. Next day they were hiding out in a parking garage doing their press conference.
Lt. Vance is the Connecticut State Police spokesperson (which is why I was surprised by his outburst). I believe he did threaten to arrest people on social media, though that might have been Chief Kehoe of the Newtown Police Dept. which includes Sandy Hook.
First, this guy did a fair job of keeping his cool in the face of a person looking for a confrontation.
Second, he’s right. This is something that the people need to take up with their legislators and their lawyers. Until the case is tried in court, it is ‘lawful’ and it is his job to enforce the law.
The thing that irks me is that we live in a Republic, we the people drop the ball, then get mad when the cops do their jobs. Jobs that the idiots that *we* elected tell them to do in *our* name.
You’re right. *We* fell asleep at the wheel, in so many ways. Cops can’t go around playing judge and decide what laws that they agree with and are willing to enforce. I don’t like it, but it’s not his responsibility to fix this mess. It’s our job.
