Errant, it is time to lighten up on Redleg.
He is an honest poster, not a stone thrower, so the sarcasm is not appropriate.
.
BUMP that for redleghunter!
AND for the stonethrowers, all the way around. 'Sinking to their level' is not instructive IMHO.
Put me on the honest poster list as well, I don’t call others names or denigrate them even when they strike first
I already have. My last post to Redleg was a sincere request for an explanation of why he doesn't consider Gordon worthy to impartially judge the origin of the early NT texts. I can see where it might appear otherwise, directly following my previous post where I fully admit I was being a little sarcastic. I'm having trouble excepting the one he has given, as I believe you both are as well? Then again, maybe that's just how the man sees it.
Seems you both know him from previous threads, and I trust both of your evaluations and appreciate you letting me know that he is an honest poster. I don't visit the religious thread much. I find what I see there pretty disgusting sometimes, coming from those who call themselves Christians.
Worse is when I see gangs of "Christians" pummeling a person and hammering them mercilessly because of some mistake they've made or because of their adherence to whatever doctrine they believe, which the attackers disagree with. That said, I see nothing wrong with questioning doctrine.
There is a certain group here who ping one another when there is what the like to call a "feeding frenzy" going on, on a thread somewhere. I'll not name names, or provide links, because they know who they are.
And Roamer_1, sometimes it is indeed helpful to give someone a taste of their own medicine. Especially bullies...
All of the above said, my apologies for sinking below a line that I fully admit I did, a little. At the time I thought for good reason. In any regard, I'm appreciative that you all stepped up and called me on it. You are the kind of folks I like to be associated with. ;)
