My impression is that Rood and his followers claim “Jesus Christ” is a satanic name, but HaMashiach Yeshua is acceptable. Why would any person who worships God through faith in Christ ever make such pronouncements?

I haven't seen where anyone has suggested that either name "Jesus" or "Christ" are satanic names. What they are, are pseudonyms (e.g., God, Lord, Elohim) and thereby lessen the power and the meaning behind the true personal names as assigned by the Almighty himself - something that Satan probably isn't unhappy about.

Jesus is of course an English trick to avoid using the name Joshua, which is his name.

But the Greek Ieasous came from not Yehoshua, but from a Rabbinical curse phrase acronym: YSU, the first characters of Yimach Shimo Vezichro. It means “Let his name be abolished and never remembered.” The Pharisees truly hated Yeshua. He completely upset their apple cart.
