Using LXX back-translation for each word in the Greek MS, to take it back to a Hebrew equivalent text yields strong evidence for Hebrew originals.

The places where the Greek makes no sense begin to be understandable in the context of the well known Hebrew culture by this method. (and yes the process is arduous, but well worth while)

I have heard of that exercise, and have seen a few very good examples where it has been used to buttress an argument... But I confess that these days, I am not ready to take on such an heady discipline. A few years ago when I was sick and bedridden, it would have been just the thing to while away some months, but anymore, I think I will wait for the Reader's Digest version : )

Reader's Digest... Heh... Is that still around? Have I dated myself (it's alright you know, as no one else will date me ; ) )

Indeed it does ES, when seen from the perspective/context of that time and place it falls into place.

There is no going back once you've had your eyes opened and I'm sure you know what I mean! ;-)

As Isaiah notes: "Whom shall he teach knowledge? And whom shall he explain the message? Those weaned from milk, those moving from breasts. For it is precept upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; a little here, and a little there."
