>> “Do you or do you not deny that we are righteous without the law?” <<
.
Which Law?
Yeshua, Paul, James, and Peter all say that doers of the Torah will be justified.
They also say that doers of the Pharisees law cannot be justified.
I’ll go with them, and call you a deliberate deceiver.
The Law God gave Moses was.
Jesus did not come to die to set us free from something that did not hold us in bondage to death, as His Law handed down at Sinai does.
1 Corinthians 15:56 The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law.
That is true.
Now find us someone who can DO the Law.
ALL of it.
ALL the time.
Without fail.
And there you will find a person justified by the Law.
However, since all have sinned and since if we offend in one point of the Law, we are guilty of it all, them ALL of us are under the curse of death and need redemption through FORGIVENESS, not keeping the Law, because it's too late. We've already broken it.
So our trying to keep the Law is not going to save us because it's too late and we can't keep it anyway.
All the *keeping the Law* proponents are doing is trying to put people back into bondage, just like the Enemy wants.
Not in the way you try to portray. One only needs to continue reading in the letter to the Romans to understand that he was talking about the hypocrites who preach the law but dont keep it perfectly. I showed that in my last post to you.
Rom. 3:28-30, "For we maintain that a man is justified by faith apart from works of the Law. 29 Or is God the God of Jews only? Is He not the God of Gentiles also? Yes, of Gentiles also, 30 since indeed God who will justify the circumcised by faith and the uncircumcised through faith is one."
And continue reading in that letter to the Romans.
Rom. 4:5, "But to the one who does not work, but believes in Him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is reckoned as righteousness,"
Rom. 5:1, "therefore having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ,"
Romans 9:30 What shall we say then? That the Gentiles, which followed not after righteousness, have attained to righteousness, even the righteousness which is of faith. 31 But Israel, which followed after the law of righteousness, hath not attained to the law of righteousness. 32 Wherefore? Because they sought it not by faith, but as it were by the works of the law. For they stumbled at that stumblingstone;
Note that verse 31. You who are claiming we need to go back under the law stumble.
Paul actually rebukes you as he does Peter.
Gal. 2:16, "nevertheless knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the Law but through faith in Christ Jesus, even we have believed in Christ Jesus, that we may be justified by faith in Christ, and not by the works of the Law; since by the works of the Law shall no flesh be justified."
Rood lies to his followers and his followers attempt to deceive us.
