Are you that naïve? I said Nehemiah Gordon does not believe Jesus or Yeshua or anyone else is the Messiah. It has nothing to do with hating anyone. And his being a Karaite Jew certainly doesn’t make him a messianic Jew.
Here’s a couple of excerpts from an email from Nehemiah Gordon.

As a Karaite Jew, I await the coming of an anointed King (in Hebrew: "Messiah") who will be a direct descendant of King David. I have no idea what his name will be and therefore I do not rule out the possibility that his name will be "Yeshua". Many Jews, and Karaites in particular, may vehemently disagree with me on this last point. All I can say is that when the anointed descendant of David reigns as a flesh and blood king over Israel, as promised in the Scriptures, we will all know his name as an accomplished fact.”

We all have a pretty good idea of what the beliefs of Karaite Jews are. Again, he has no reason to bend the truth concerning what language Yeshua spoke or what language the book of Matthew was written in.
You would do well to view his presentation on the subject...

You are into something that you cannot possibly understand on this.
Do you realize that Yeshua didn’t actually come as the Messiah on his first coming?
He came as the suffering servant, and will come as Messiah/King on the second coming.
Nehemia Gordon is a dedicated researcher, and a stickler for detail. Every Christian he has met has insisted that Yeshua is the messiah, which he obviously is, but on examining all the scriptural evidence, Gordon searches for a messiah, and does not see one in the suffering servant that died on the cross.
This is a common hangup for a considerable number of Jewish scholars. He doesn’t deny that Yeshua came, and he has studied all that is available to him about Yeshua and says that he is still looking for the messiah.
There is no denying that the Holy Spirit is working through him, if you meet him in person. The Holy Spirit touches everyone in the room when he is there. I’m kind of holding my judgement on this because of what I’ve seen, and the things that happen when he and Keith Johnson are together.
I don’t blame anyone for being cautious about accepting him, but attacking him is clearly a mistake; he produces much fruit for Yeshua, and throws no stones at all.

And this guy is a Hebrew scholar??? He's not much of a scholar if he can't find Jesus in the Old Testament...The Bereans could finds things in the Old Testament that confirmed the NT scriptures...What happened to Mr. Gordon???
