The story was noticed by a man named John Starr Cooke. Mr. Cooke was born to wealthy parents in Hawaii and was really into the Ouija board mess. He even married his wife because the Ouija board "told him to". He took such an interest in Subud that he financed Pak Subuh to come to the U.S. to try and gain more members to the cult. Eva Bartok and her daughter Deana moved to Jakarta to become more involved with the cult. They lived there from 1967 to 1971, when they moved back to the states and Eva opened a school in Hawaii and taught Subuh Philosophy."

Weird how Subud was unknown to (any?) people here, even the most intrepid researchers, and now it’s...everywhere. An insidious Moslem/commie trojan horse for haoles, apparently.
And funny how it took the belly landing of a Cessna in the ocean off a little island of Hawaii and the death of the Director of Health of Hawaii to uncover it...thanks to the letter Brown Deer found announcing the death of Deliana...and if Corsi hadn't put the man's image on a facebook page, the world would still be unaware. It's just a little unfortunate that Corsi went along with that short freeper comment 'that looks like zero' because really, there's no resemblance, once you study more images of the man; he's so typically Indonesian, and zero would have needed a head transplant to look anything like him.

BUT...there are people who are signing up and PAYING her to read it! Mind you, like a blind squirrel, she did find the photo of what looks like Stanley Ann Dunham on page 18 of Muhammad Speaks at an event in February 1962, and she was holding a coloured child of about six months of age. So if you can wade through a mountain of manure, like the little boy said, there's bound to be pony in there somewhere.

Bapak was given the name Soekarno by his grandfather. But with that name Bapak was always ill, and therefore his name was soon changed to another name, Muhammad-Subuh, to correspond with the time of Bapak’s birth which was at subuh (dawn). After Bapak’s name was changed to Muhammad-Subuh he was always healthy and seldom fell ill.
Bapak’s father was called Chasidi. During his lifetime he worked as an officer of a railway company and after he retired he worked on his own farm as a farmer. Bapak’s late father was a descendant (grandson) of Kiaji Muhammad Abubakar, or, originally, Pangeran (meaning “prince”) Sajid Muhammad Abubakar. It was told that he came from Jogjakarta, in Central Java.
Bapak’s mother’s name is Siti Kursinah. She is a descendant of Pangeran (Prince) Purbokusumo, a descendant of Sunan Kalijogo of Kadilangu Demak.

Subud = priyayi?
For scholars Subud is considered priyayi. In his dissertation: “Susila Budhi Dharma”(1974) Dr.P.P.Sitompul con- siders Bapak a typical guru of the priyayi type. To this group belong the descendants of the aristocracy of the Javanese courts of Yogyakarta and Surakarta, who the Dutch won over to become members of the appointive civil service in colonial times. Nowadays they constitute the intelligentsia of Java. They have their roots in the Hindu-Javanese courts of pre- colonial times. A noble and pure character is attributed to them. They were the bearers of the mystic court-traditions taught to them by highly revered guru’s. Priyayi conserved and cultivated the art of dance, drama, music and poetry.
In Javanese mysticism one learns that it is good to honour one’s superiors...Justice and well-being are expected to flow from above, to originate from a Bapak who in his turn derives his power for protection from a higher Bapak, etc., until one reaches the realm of supernature and the leader “by the grace of God”.”,notes Prof.N.Mulder (p.42) and adds: “Every guru invariably stresses the originality of his revelation or intuitive insights while rejecting knowledge from books or the influence of tradition.(p.26)
According to Prof. van der Kroef Subud is a continuation of, or a new elaboration on “traditional mystical patterns emanating from the Javanese courts and propagated largely but not exclusively by the aristocracy”. The Raden Mas title of Bapak refers to this descent. According to Bapak his mother was a descendant of Prince Purbokusumo, who in turn descended from Sunan (=king) Kalidjogovan(also called Kalidjaga). The latter Bapak credits with having given the ancient Wayang play its present form. Before it was part of the Javanese ancestor- worship. The shadow figures represent the spirits of the dead. Subsequently the Hindu epics Mahabharta and Ramayana were introduced and integrated in Wayang performances.
