It doesn't matter what happened after secession. So you tell me, what was the big event regarding tariffs in 1859/1860?
The only reason the Morrill tariff passed in 1861 was because there were no southern congressmen left to oppose it, their states had already seceded. The Morrill tariff would not have passed without secession.
1.”Was the south taxed or tariffed(sic)?...No they weren't.”
False point. No one said that.
2.”They opposed the high tariff on foreign goods and got their way to have it lowered in the 1850s.”
What happened to the tariff in the 1850s had no bearing on the decisions of 1860. Another red herring.
3. “It doesn't matter what happened after secession.”
Red herring and not a point made by anyone here except yourself in response to an imaginary assertion...straw man argument.
Are you trying to be irascible or just spouting canards?
4.” The only reason the Morrill tariff passed in 1861 was because there were no southern congressmen left to oppose it.”
Distinction without meaning.
5. “The Morrill tariff would not have passed without secession.”
So, then why did you bring it up?
