I think that this is all nonsense.
When you offer proof for purge of high ranking officers that includes Lieutenants, Commanders, and Major alarm bells should go off. These are not high ranking officers except in the minds of a few privates.
Most of this has been debunked more than once on this forum. Repeating it doesn’t make it so.
Somehow as an E-1/2/3 I was slotted as an O-3 and later as an O-4. I know it’s impossible, except that it happened. I was the guy in charge of the DMZ at I Corps G-2 and they thought that was an officer’s job but didn’t have officers available to do it or something. Later on, as a Spec.4 I was an actual battalion S-2 (3/10 Cav.) and that’s supposedly not done, either.
I absolutely agree with you. The people on this list were screw ups. They either weren’t doing their job or were acting in a manner that was inappropriate for leadership in the current times. The Army found a strong connection between suicides and toxic leaders. The toxic leaders would ride hard those with problems but were completely different toward higher levels.
You are correct. However, the number of senior officers being sacked for cause is disturbing about what is says about the officer corps. McNamara’s stated goal of reorienting the officer corp fro being leaders in the traditional and heroic mode to being managers has come about and the fruits of that arrogant and foolish man's personal animus for professional soldiers are being harvested.
