>>>I just find that kind of humorous.

LOL...you have no idea. We out here in the weather field....real operational meteorologists not the grant backed "professors" are really having a laugh. The fact that they are acting like its new....or actually caused by global warming is a hoot.

But at the same time its frustrating and sad. As I said on a previous thread, the thing that frustrates us the most is that so many of the media and scientists seem to have an issue with long-term memory. It's funny that every time an arctic front comes down they forget about 1983 when the ears froze off cattle in North Dakota...or 1899 when Galveston Bay froze over and people walked to the Bolivar Peninsula.

My son, who is up at college in the Northeast told me he remembers when the snow was up to his chest. He is telling me this is all crap because the snow is only at his knees.

I told him he grew three feet since he was six years old. His response? “oh.”

Yup, 100k for college well spent.

I live about 25-30 miles away from the Gulf in south Louisiana and can remember as a kid, old timers talking about there being more than a foot of snow down here.
I'm 67 and have never seen more than 1 1/2" in my life here.
Can't imagine more than a foot of snow.
Takes a real special setup to get any measurable snow down here, cold air already in place and a low forming off the coast of Texas and moving kind of quick to the northeast over us.
Usually at night, so that the temps are still low enough.
One of them *Gulf Vortexes*, LOL.

.or 1899 when Galveston Bay froze over and people walked to the Bolivar Peninsula.

And then the *next* year..... hm.

Been trying to correlate GOM wx anomalies and hurricanes for a couple years since this horrific drought in Centex.

First I’ve heard of GOM seawater freezing, will look for links.
