In his press conference on December 20th, President Obama urged the House of Representatives to support the Senates immigration bill, which passed 68-32 in late June. Among the concerns cited by Americans who oppose reform are that immigrants will take their jobs, drive down wages, increase criminal activity, burden the welfare system, and reshape the cultural dynamic of the country. These concerns are mostly ill-founded. The legitimate concerns have real solutions, and a more open immigration policy will be a net benefit for all Americans...
Highlights from Article:
- A 2013 study by the American Action Forum states that "immigration reform can raise population growth, labor force growth, and thus growth in Gross Domestic Product (GDP).
- In 2013 the Bipartisan Policy Center came to similar conclusions. It makes the prediction that current provisions, as included in the Senate Bill, would raise GDP 4.8 percent over twenty years.
- According to the Immigration Policy Center, immigrant males between the ages of 18 and 39 (which constitute the greatest portion of the prison population) are five times less likely to be incarcerated than are natives.
- A 2011 survey by the Pew Research Center revealed that 92 percent of second generation and 96 percent of third generation Hispanics speak English proficiently.
- A 2010 Gallup poll revealed that Hispanics attend church services more often than non-Hispanic whites.
- Since an influx of immigrants means an expansion of the labor supply, many assert that the result will be less jobs and lower wages. However, as asserted by Jason Riley, a member of the Wall Street Journal editorial board, The number of jobs in the United States is not static. Its fluid, which is how we want it to be.

That’s where this Maria woman came to FOX, from CNBC.
I studied commodities and went to seminar after seminar for about three years. I have to beg to take issue with your mom. There are so many ways to trade, though. Maybe your mom likes the trading practices CNBC does. Good for her.
Some strange things are going on today in the market. Have to turn Varney on to listen. It’s consolidating when the DJIA, S&P and Nazzie should be going straight up because of the VIX. Strange. Must be political. The foreign markets have taken a good dump.
Cats are aliens.
Possibly from another dimension.
What kind of messed up place would that be for them to prefer this dimension with us?
Uh-huh. Weatherman has been saying it for a few days. I think you were on your work computer.
What about five. Maybe seven if a neighbor catches two babies of six. Four were killed by cars. Very sad.
You live in the same city as my elder sister.
I just asked the exact same question, but then added my Tootsie kitteh and her birth mate.
By any chance did you do that one little chore this morning? Forgot to mention it before you left for work.
Will do now. Bye for a few minutes.
It depends on “where” she lives. If she lives in one of the newer sections, she lives in Green Valley, as opposed to my living in “Old Town” Henderson. I’m half a mile away from the city center complex, but Green Valley sprawls west to I-15 and way south of the old Lake Mead Highway.
Third largest city in the state. Got beat out of second place by Reno, last year!
Sent.
I don’t think we’re getting those kittehs....
Yes, I did The One Thing.
:^)
You got me there, Darks. But they keep coming to our door. These two new kittehs that I want are being chased down by a neighbor for me. Gave him a kitteh box for them.
He and his wife have 17 cats. They have a home like ours, but on the side of their house, they have a $250,000 motor home. They must have won a lottery or something. Of course, their parents live three homes away.
My jobsite sits on a sideroad.
Couple years back, some idiot in a stationwagon dropped off a female maine coon cat.
We all tried to catch this cat, but she was too scared.
We never did catch that cat.
Flip forward, living on a county route, farm fields all around.
Some idiot dumps off a manx.
My younger brother and a couple of nieces and nephews live in Reno. My elder sister lives in Henderson. I have her address if you want it in FReepmail.
Fat Freddy:
Where's that other one in the sink?
I talked to him yesterday. He said two of them were still around. I asked him if they were too feral. He said probably not. Just afraid of big people right now.
I sent it. Will send it again.
Manx cats come from the Isle of Wight. You got a good one! No tail, right?
I just love our babies. Well, most of the time.
What was the name of your Manx?
