Dispelling Myths: The Case for Immigration Reform [Enjoy your made-in-America ZOT, troll]
Red Dirt Report ^ | 12/27/2013 | Brian Woodward

In his press conference on December 20th, President Obama urged the House of Representatives to support the Senate’s immigration bill, which passed 68-32 in late June. Among the concerns cited by Americans who oppose reform are that immigrants will take their jobs, drive down wages, increase criminal activity, burden the welfare system, and reshape the cultural dynamic of the country. These concerns are mostly ill-founded. The legitimate concerns have real solutions, and a more open immigration policy will be a net benefit for all Americans...

Highlights from Article:

- A 2013 study by the American Action Forum states that "immigration reform can raise population growth, labor force growth, and thus growth in Gross Domestic Product (GDP).”

- In 2013 the Bipartisan Policy Center came to similar conclusions. It makes the prediction that current provisions, as included in the Senate Bill, would raise GDP 4.8 percent over twenty years.

- According to the Immigration Policy Center, immigrant males between the ages of 18 and 39 (which constitute the greatest portion of the prison population) are five times less likely to be incarcerated than are natives.

- A 2011 survey by the Pew Research Center revealed that 92 percent of second generation and 96 percent of third generation Hispanics speak English proficiently.

- A 2010 Gallup poll revealed that Hispanics attend church services more often than non-Hispanic whites.

- Since an influx of immigrants means an expansion of the labor supply, many assert that the result will be less jobs and lower wages. However, as asserted by Jason Riley, a member of the Wall Street Journal editorial board, “The number of jobs in the United States is not static. It’s fluid, which is how we want it to be.”

I understand that one-sided stuff. I was loyal, as well, and took my vows very seriously. The pith is still occurring, but there is very little, if anything I can do, and my one ally, (his middle daughter) passed away about 10 years ago. And I still miss her. Her daughter was named after me, but will not even speak to me. (ohwell)

My consolation lies in this: KARMA!!!

I will eat. I DID get a “little piece of foods” as my toddler son once said. So I am good in that area! The Adult Beverage is chilling in the fridge, so long about lunchtime, it should be ready for a test run!

I forgot the grapefruit and rye bread, but I’ll get that when I leave the PO as it’s just football field away from Wally World.

;o]

I want a kitten, too. Two kittens would be better. But then I think...hmmm...that may be a bad idea germinating into a worse reality.

I need to stay pet free for a while...

Yah, we’re going to get some of the wet stuff, too. You guys are about 150 miles south of us, so a lot of what we get misses you to the north.

And you get the heat sooner. The humidity in the Valley of the Sun is what gets to me...all the orchards, cotton fields and swimming pools... ;o])

Three kittens would be 286% worse than two. It’s been scientifically studied!

Couldn’t have done it without Cyber. I could not drive from mid-August until about two weeks ago. He took me to every single doctors’ appointments and physical therapy. I’m now able to type. I was a court reporter in criminal court. I used my hands every single day bouncing them off different keyboards about or over 10,000 times a day. Then not being able to use them was the roughest part of the whole ordeal.

That time has now passed. A brand new life is ahead, and it’s gonna be great!

Funny story: Cyber went to get my nine-year old Ford Exployer’s emission certificate. The mechanic asked how many miles were on the truck. Cyber told him 31,000 miles. The mechanic did not believe him and checked it himself. That truck has been to Washington, DC, and back and to So. Cal. and back about five times. I guess I don’t drive a whole heck of a lot. It’s a four-wheel drive. Have I ever used that little gadget?

I have to get oil changes every thousand miles or so. LOL!!!

Oh, he was such a cute kitten. He’s now a handsome cat. I’m not talking about his behavior. Although a couple of weeks ago, you told him to jump in a box and he did.

We have to get those three photos of him in the clouds to show his skinny, normal and fat stages all in one day.

Then we take photos of his sister, and nothing shows up. Are they Ancient Alien Astronauts?
