In his press conference on December 20th, President Obama urged the House of Representatives to support the Senates immigration bill, which passed 68-32 in late June. Among the concerns cited by Americans who oppose reform are that immigrants will take their jobs, drive down wages, increase criminal activity, burden the welfare system, and reshape the cultural dynamic of the country. These concerns are mostly ill-founded. The legitimate concerns have real solutions, and a more open immigration policy will be a net benefit for all Americans...
Highlights from Article:
- A 2013 study by the American Action Forum states that "immigration reform can raise population growth, labor force growth, and thus growth in Gross Domestic Product (GDP).
- In 2013 the Bipartisan Policy Center came to similar conclusions. It makes the prediction that current provisions, as included in the Senate Bill, would raise GDP 4.8 percent over twenty years.
- According to the Immigration Policy Center, immigrant males between the ages of 18 and 39 (which constitute the greatest portion of the prison population) are five times less likely to be incarcerated than are natives.
- A 2011 survey by the Pew Research Center revealed that 92 percent of second generation and 96 percent of third generation Hispanics speak English proficiently.
- A 2010 Gallup poll revealed that Hispanics attend church services more often than non-Hispanic whites.
- Since an influx of immigrants means an expansion of the labor supply, many assert that the result will be less jobs and lower wages. However, as asserted by Jason Riley, a member of the Wall Street Journal editorial board, The number of jobs in the United States is not static. Its fluid, which is how we want it to be.

I like nice people.
Is Karsh Kentu nice?
Karsh can tend to be cranky.
Having been dead for a thousand years, then rudely awoken by a deity tends to do that.
But he’s more or less a nice guy.
Unless one is a necromancer or somehow ticks him off.
Old-fashioned gentlemen I can understand.
It’s the ones who will stab you while smiling that are nasty.
I probably shouldn’t mention his award winning smile in the middle of battle.
That’s different. A, er, being should enjoy his work, I always say.
There’s a difference between enjoying one’s work and shouting restaurant slogans at the enemy.
“Half gold piece ales at the Thirsty Gurruck every Thondak!”
Probably sounded a bit different in the original.
Yes.
Makes the enemy thirsty, and frightens them that someone can swing a sword while shouting that.
Tired and slightly sick, but I’m sure we’ll recover. Best wishes for your fingers to recover!
I’m feeling the need to go check on Timmy. The lad has a penchant for getting into trouble if you don’t keep an eye on him.
Only a few more story elements to put in place and his tale will be complete.
That’s the problem with having a likable character. You hate to give him up when there’s so much that’s interesting about him.
With Karsh, he’s rather disagreeable on telling me his tale.
You’re welcome!
Timmy's a quiet boy, but his story is moving along nicely.
I am setting here with my jacket on. I had to turn on the heater again. It only about 66 here now and my left pointing finger 2nd knuckle doesn’t not like it at all. It could get down to 37 tonight. All this and I also want an extra key for my car. Car keys cost way to much and they they still steal your car if they want. Are there any cars left with cheep keys left. I also need to buy a new car. I drive up the hill to work. It can get really cold up there. It gets really cold up there. Over night low could be below 32. Have a nice day.

I feel sorry for you, buddy, but if you leave that job it will be downhill all the way.
That’s all I’ve got to say.
.
Oh, and go to Ace Hardware if you have them, for your key.
That’s why Karsh and his tale are stagnating.
He’s not so quiet.
I think he even threw me out of his sitting room.
I think half his books were even chasing me, teeth bared.
Low tonight supposedly of 29 Fahrenheit.
Freezing rain.
Loverly.
Wish us luck.
Stay warm, see everyone tomorrow.
