Yes, if my expectation is correct that there is some smoking gun evidence still to emerge about Obama, then team Obama may step up it’s game of marginalizing birthers by attaching all kinds of extreme kookiness to their stigma. I can’t imagine that this so-called whistle blower has been trained or put forward by team Obama, but I have little doubt they are contemplating how they might make her a poster boy for our cause and subsequently a whipping boy for their attacks.
Fighting against an element on the fringe of your opponent’s perspective is generally a lot easier than taking on your opponent’s strongest contentions. An unprincipled debater will argue against the existence of God on the basis that people who believe in a flat earth also believe in God. Or, he will argue FOR the existence of God on the basis that Jeffrey Dahmer was an atheist. The Obama administration has already made it clear that birthers should be perceived strictly as “carnival barkers,” (Jay Carney) so we should be ready for them to paint us all as pathetic glory seekers looking for 15 minutes of fame or as schizophrenics who also believe that Elvis lives in our basements. Both of those conditions may be in view for this “admitted” birth certificate forger.
I realize I’m not saying anything new here, but sometimes it helps to be reminded of things we already know. Every time somebody pops up with a new bold claim that Obama is soon to be thrown in the slammer, I find myself wondering if our cause has just been weakened by people who are so gullible as to never scrutinize anything that sounds really good. At least it’s good that most people posting to this thread have not been inclined to hold this kook up as “the answer we’ve all been looking for.”
Yes, it is good to remember that that has very much been a strategy that Dem politicos have used to run interference for Clinton and Obama in the past.
