The regulations are going to somehow cancel the reality of recorded deaths by drowning of people wearing these same life jackets? That just isn’t possible, but if you insisting on thinking that way, I can’t see much hope in trying to convince you otherwise.

Anybody who knows anything about long and short forms knows that the short form is simply a computer-generated, robo-signed declaration that the long form exists and contains the facts asserted in the short form. It is a database printout, the database entry having been created by the human who processed the long form when they converted to using a database as opposed to photocopying and stamping the long form.

Sorry, but people still drown in the ocean even when they have buoyancy vests. I’m not sure why you refuse to acknowledge that fact, but it’s probably a problem I can’t help you with.

I doubt you or her deputy are medical professionals qualified to make that call. I’ll wait to hear it from someone life, you know, the medical examiners. Until then, it remains a more likely possibility than political hit squad.

No, I’m just saying that until medical examiners say she didn’t, I don’t see why it shouldn’t be considered possible. So far, nobody has given a good reason why it wouldn’t be a possibility.

Well, medical professionals are the only ones really qualified to make definitive statements like “she did not die of drowning”, when the cause of death is unknown at this time. Someone would have to be a witness for them to be qualified to make a definitive statement like “she never treaded water”. If you’re neither of those, then your inferences are just wild speculations that you really shouldn’t expect anyone to put much stock in.

This is just a strange, paranoid way of thinking. There’s really no good way to respond to that.
That description of life jackets fits the reports that they were wearing yellow inflatable life jackets and were laying on their backs in the water when they were found. That would probably have allowed for more drifting than if their heads were just sticking out of the water and would also explain how the large Kawasaki could hold onto another person in a life jacket without bringing him down as well.
If I was floating on my back with one of those I think I would not be treading water with my hands to keep from drowning but would cup my hands over my mouth and nose to keep from breathing in the water from spray, if my hands could reach that far.
Fuddy was holding Yamamoto’s hand until she let go and became unresponsive, according to what Yamamoto told the priest. They must have been floating on their backs with one arm stretched out to hold the other’s hand. Fuddy was distressed, and at some point she just went unconscious/dead.
