God's answer was, You decided you did not want Me in your schools.
Thanks to Madalyn Murray O’Hair and the supreme court in 1963.

Is it possible that I might persuade you that single-payer and socialist-entitlement government K-12 schooling is fundamentally evil and that it is, and **always has been** built upon a corrupt foundation?

I had the good fortune to attend Catholic schools for 10 years and then spent the last 2 years in the local government's socialist-entitlement school. I graduated in 1964. I saw the difference between a truly Christ-centered education and the puny, watered-down, lukewarm, and generic Protestant nod given to God in the government schools.

In the parochial elementary and high schools, Catholic philosophy was thoroughly integrated into all aspects of the curriculum and school policies. Here are two simple examples among hundreds that I could give:

***. When a police, fire, or ambulance siren was heard, the nuns stopped the class and the entire class said a prayer for the safety of those involved.
*** Each hour, a small prayer was said to ask God's blessing on the hour.

In government school, yes, the day started with the Lord's Prayer ( Protestant version) and scripture ( Protestant scriptures). The rest of the day, God was forgotten and we were subjected to non-stop godless secularism. Occasionally, ( maybe a half dozen times a year) a religious song **might** be sung by the school chorus.

What does God do with the lukewarm and generic? Answer: He spits them out of His mouth.

Please remember:

**Government socialist-entitlement schooling was never more than generically and lukewarmly Protestant in its worldview.
**Government socialist-entitlement schooling was a Prog idea from the beginning.
**The Progs have always controlled teacher training and curriculum development.
**The Progs have always pushed the edges of society's morals and ethics.
** The Progs have always pushed for greater and greater secularization until now the government's socialist-entitlement schools are now, not only godless, but preach against God.

When children attend government socialist-entitlement schools that are generically lukewarm in their relationship to God, the students are at risk for two things:

1) They risk learning to be generic and lukewarm toward God.
2) They risk learning to be comfortable with socialism. Hey! If the voting mob can give them tuition-free school, why not use that voting mob to get lots of “free” stuff?

Today, the children in godless schools **will** learn to think and reason godlessly. They must just to cooperate in the godless classroom.

Today, nearly every teacher in this nation ( both private and the government's socialist-entitlement schools) was trained by godless Marxists in Marxist-run colleges and universities. Yet...Conservatives and Christians are asleep to the danger to our nation's freedom and the souls of their children.

#24 bump.

I am still bitter about having been "educated" in government schools. My father was religious, but not well educated in the faith, so I had the heart of the faith, without the head of the faith.

As a teen, I was torn between "the world" and the Church, as evidenced by the fact that my two high school heroes were Jesus and Mick Jagger. The tension finally boiled over at the end of my college career, when I became deeply depressed.

Fortunately, grace pulled me through. I spent my twenties trying to figure out what had happened to me, and I eventually found what I was looking for in the writings of St. Thomas Aquinas. (I also found the explanation for the bizarre modern phenomenon known as "public school" through the writings of John Taylor Gatto).

Looking back, that painful period in my life motivated me to homeschool my children, which was one of the best decisions in my life, and which has been a great blessing to our family.

Sadly, the knowledge of the faith among Catholic teens is appalling, and probably worse than when I was a teen. Catholic Answers is filling the gap for 20-somethings, but it's a great tragedy that so many young Catholics must suffer through such psychic agony.

There is a strong possibility you learned that from me and others that have known that information since long before you ever heard of Free Republic.

Posting a lecture as if you are the only informed person in the world is quite telling of your lack of wisdom.

The rest of the day, God was forgotten
Why would you forget God? Surely they did not threaten to beat you if you remembered Him. that was on you. Perhaps your Catholic upbringing lacked in teaching you staying power.

Today, the children in godless schools **will** learn to think and reason godlessly. They must just to cooperate in the godless classroom.
You must not know any Christians with kids in public schools.

Yet...Conservatives and Christians are asleep to the danger to our nation's freedom and the souls of their children.
You sure have the use of the broadbrush down!

LOL, the list of issues your are asleep to is much too long to post here!

In the future, please leave me out of your self aggrandizing/glorification lecture pings.
