I just watched Professor Turley’s opening statement. He’s an Obama supporter but a brilliant Constitutionalist. (Taught me in his first law school job at Tulane).

Very simply put, he believes that Obama’s refusal to enforce numerous laws, his changing of laws’ explicit provisions and the ever expanding and powerful federal agencies are a threat to the delicate balance of power implemented through our Madisonian form of government. And it is up to Congress to reign him in.

He’s right, but there will be no reigning in without a Republican, if not conservative, majority in both houses. The Dems would sacrifice the Republic for power.

“”He’s an Obama supporter but a brilliant Constitutionalist””

What a breath of fresh air to hear an obozo supporter actually tell it like it is but that’s the way it should be - loyalty to the US Constitution first. The hearing just ended and Turley was excellent. He didn’t pull any punches. He paints a “dire picture” (his words) of the legislative branch becoming irrelevant in light of the many decisions made from the executive branch.

He talked about “member standing” and said he has written numerous times about it and while I didn’t understand all of it, he apparently encourages members of congress to actually take their concerns to court and he said at one point that he has represented some members of congress in just such actions. I believe he is very concerned about the direction we are going.

It’s refreshing to know that we are not alone in wondering why the WH gets away with what they do and that just possibly, there is some remedy tho’ they were careful about using the “I” word....

Four witnesses and one was a jerk. All in all, time well spent - 3 1/2 hours..
