News Flash: Presidents don’t relieve Colonels, he has no clue who this guy is or what he does. Of course, that goes double for the muldoon who wrote this article.

Just a few quick points to illustrate that the author has no idea what he is talking about.

This guy is a Garrison Commander, emphasis on the word garrison. Not a combat command. I’ve been a Garrison Commander, you are responsible for plumbing, getting the grass mowed, running the morale support activities, etc. You are the landlord, not the warlord.

Note the pictures: he is an Adjutant General Corps officer and so is his replacement. This is the penultimate Admin Weenie branch of the Army and gives you a clue that this job is an Admin Weenie position in a backwater - which is exactly what Camp Zama is.

His replacement is coming from the National War College as our intrepid reporter has discovered. If he knew the slightest thing about how the Army works, he would know that’s what you do after battalion level command and before brigade level command (most Garrison Commanders are brigade level commanders) She was already on the command list and when Colonel Tilley did whatever he did to get himself sacked, she was the next one on the list - works like a batting order.

He was relieved by his boss, MG Boozer. Boozer certainly informed his boss when he did it, but he didn’t get ordered to do it and he probably didn’t ask permission. That’s what commanders get paid to do. No one in the political world knows who Tilley is, no do they care. Boozer, by the way, is no Obama fan.

There is no purge going on, Period. Unfortunately, it’s just the opposite. The generals are doing exactly what their political masters want them to do, and everyone else is falling in line. The military is going through a drawdown and industry isn’t hiring. No one wants to be tossed on the street at age 50. This is a dog that didn’t bark story. Not a single General Officer has spoken out or resigned in protest. If this mythical 197 officers had been purged, don’t you think that at least one would come forward to complain about political retribution? Of course, you don’t do that when the problem is your zipper or that bottle in your desk drawer.

The Kenyan Jackass has underlings that prune out the ones who won’t kiss his and the Pentagon’s ass! The military, as you and I both know, is full of political ass-kissing field grade officers.

Our pathetic military is run, by and large, by a gaggle of leftist civilians.

You’re right that the author is not very in touch on military matters and really stretching his attempted point about this relief having any connection to the various flag ranks being sent down the road. As to your final paragraph, I remain among the unconvinced of either a conspiracy/purge case or a business-as-usual case. I’m in a wait-and-see mode as there is enough other crap going on that watchful waiting seems to be advisable.

BTW, thumbs up on the “admin weenie” characterization.

You appear to be wasting your time trying to set things straight. Pity.
