This failure of an option B has set the stage for Bohners end game, very much like what happened early this year with taxes.
Reid Slams New House GOP Debt Limit Offer (Hissy fit) Roll Call ^ | 10/15/13 | Meredith Shiner
Reid will pass his ‘bipartision’ bill using a procedure that only requires 50 votes but gutting a previously passed bill. That allows lots of GOP Senators cover to vote symbolically ‘no’ with no effect.
Then that Bill goes to house and Bohner puts it up for a vote and passes it with Pelosi Dems and a few Dems like Peter King, this will give lots of GOP house members plenty of cover to vote ‘no’ with no consequence.
That Senate Bill passes in the house as is Obama and signs it. Crisis ended. GOP gets pretty close to nothing. But Congress keeps their Obamacare subsidy and all those government employees who got furloughed get paid for that extra vacation. .
Lastly, no one challenges Bohner as Speaker just like in January. He keeps his job. None of them want it.
I almost forgot, Dems go into their Thanksgiving and Christmas celebrating their great victory over GOP and the Tea Party.
GOP(nor me) , not quite as happy.
As I said, Bohner will go to Pelosi to pass it, again.
Difference is I don't go around spouting defeatism to try to kill off the very real momentum that conservatives have gained.

momentum ???
Your faith in Bohner to hold the line is very inspiring.
Morale is an important part of any fight. You are either supporting the fight and keeping up morale, or you are supporting the other side.
Which is it?

I always like the idea of a short term extension in return for cutting off congress and their staffs Obama-care subsidies like the latest failed play.
Especially wiping those smirks off of Reid and Obama’s faces,
But it looks like its ‘all or nothing’ which in this case = nothing
I was actually in the Senate gallery back in 2011 on the night of the first ‘big cave’ after Boehner became Speaker of the House. Remember, that’s the one where he went back to the Republicans and said “I got the best deal I could” on spending cuts, which turned out to be an increase of a couple hundred million.
Imagine how this country might have been different if he’d showed some fortitude back then and held out for a couple of weeks. Instead he’s got a track record of buckling under as soon as the smallest amount of pressure is applied so everyone - media, conservatives, GOP and especially the Dems - just assume it’s a foregone conclusion.
Looks like Bohners going to go to Dems like Pelosi to pass a bill like he did those other three times.
The others will have plenty of cover to vote no except a few like Peter King who will join Dems.
Your faith in Bohner NOT doing that is inspiring.
At the very least, we need to make congress live with Obamacare...as well as their staff. I mean, that’s not even hard. If we can’t get r stuff together t o even accomplish that, then we truly are pathetic. It’s so frustrating to have the math on our side, the facts on our side, even the majority of the people on our side......we have everything but the politics on our side. Those are controlled by the media and they always win.

Once the camera's are off and the reporters leave, the D's and R's congratulate each other that they managed to fool us all for another day.
This cycle will continue until we do one thing:
Hang 'em all, hang 'em high.
In the spirit of our Founding Fathers complete with tar, feathers, and swinging by their necks on the steps of the Capital. That's the fix we need.
Believe it or not he Dems now consider that sequester deal a big Obama sellout to the GOP and part of why they demanded that he not give the GOP anything on this, which he didnt so far.
I made a simple case to try to avoid this Kabuki dance.
The end of last yeas I challenged Freepers to talk their favorite House GOP like Lou Gomert to run for Speaker against Bohner after he went to Pelosi for votes twice.
Not one responded.
Is all a familiar dance
I am not Rush, I don't get paid big $$$ to tell you sweet fairy tales that you want to hear.
I will save that brainless work for others.;
No one will take Boners job, call your favorite pet house hero and ask him to run against him as speaker, I dare you. He will never return the call.

Get on the phone and call your favorite House member to run as Speaker and tell us what he said,

Get someone to run against Bohner, its that simple.

You should challenge them (your favorite house members) to oppose him as Speaker by running for it themselves now , this losing and then scape-goating whining stuff is long past old.

I don't want sweet fairy tales, and I don't listen to Rush.
What I want is for so-called conservatives to knock off the defeatist talk and borrowing trouble. Because that DOES affect morale.
It's not over until it's over. You are calling the game early. Like the liberal media is trying to do.

Reality is reality, its not defeatism.
Defeatism is rushing into a machine gun nest with blindfolds on.
Thank you so much for the pings! I really appreciate all that you do!
Amnesty passes or Obama shuts us down harder next time.
You've embraced defeat so closely that you felt compelled to write up your defeatism and share it with those that might not have quite given up yet.

That is one of my main points. Why not try to hurt Dems?
GOP will vote symbolic no’s
Obama-care will stay law.
Congress will still get that special $$$ for Obamacare
Bohner will remain Speaker.
If some here dont like it then they should address it and stop it, not live in wonderland.
That reminds me of when Rush told his listeners that Romney would win in a landslide and many listeners were repeating it. Oh, better not contradict Rush or that is defeatism
Then boom! What happened?
Opening your eyes and thinking is NOT defeatism. NO wonder Obama beats the crap out of GOP with such logic.
