“Of course, I want people to have health care,” Vinson said. “I just didn’t realize I would be the one who was going to pay for it personally.”

Idiots like these shouldn’t be allowed to vote.

Well, let’s face it, for most low information voters this is the first time the shaft has targeted them in such a direct way. Oh, sure, they knew that Obamacare would stick it to people who had a lot of money — they just didn’t think that the government would consider their measly hill of beans to be anything like “a lot of money”.

This is one of the problems of having a huge federal government that is funded by automatic deductions from a person’s paycheck.

As anyone who has ever purchased a house knows, it is one thing to have your annual property tax bunched in with your monthly mortgage payment, and quite another thing to have to pay it in one fell swoop each year, which is what happens in many cases once you pay off your mortgage.

I understand completely why it is done in this fashion. There would be far too many people who cannot budget adequately to have that money set in reserve for the bill to be paid when it arrives each year. Sad but true. Too many people live month to month without a thought to the future, but it is also true that too many of these people have multiple cars, cable television, Internet, multiple cell phones, vacations, etc.

If we had to pay our tax bills each year with one payment, there would be a revolution. Right now, you don’t see another dollar or two, or three, or even ten being taken each month. But if you paid your tax bill in one large payment each year, and one year it is $25K, and the next year it is $32K, you would justifiably wonder where that extra $7K is going towards.

This all reminds me of that old saying: “You think (INSERT SOME NECESSARY THING HERE) is expensive, just wait until it is free.”

I hate to say this, but Vinson and the rest of us are not paying for it. We are racking up enormous debt to pay for it and it will the kids and grandkids who inherit a bankrupt country will be the ones paying for it.
